111 is a barn style home with a vaulted arched roof design.  The scale of the main body (entry/dining/2 bedrooms) is highlighted with the full arched roof going front to back, and is separated from the living room/master bedroom volume by material (stucco) as well as two smaller arched roofs that are also stepped back.  This stepping, and the oak tree obscuring the stucco portion gives the house a much smaller and taller look.  When you add the 8' tall french doors and the 5' tall windows it further modifies the scale by suggesting this portion is much shorter than it is.  From the other side of the canyon the full effect of this play on scale can be seen.  It's always entertaining to see people driving or walking the street opposite from the house.  They will stop and stand trying to figure out what it is that seems so intriguing.  This works especially well when people are dining on the deck or walking around in front. It looks as if they are a family of ten year olds.
